Changes at a Glance:
On February 9, 2007, all UL 1449 Listed surge suppressors will be required to meet stringent new safety requirements.

• Surge suppressors will be required to undergo strenuous testing to ensure they will not create fire or shock hazards when exposed to prolonged AC overvoltage conditions.

• Tests do not relate to, or guarantee surge suppressor performance, as UL’s function is product safety testing, not product performance testing.
